Maybe I'm missing something, so somebody help me out. I was out at Devils Fork this week and the shoreline looks like a whole different lake. We're sitting around 455 and it's about seven feet down from where it was in the summer.
Back in June when Conway Corp announced the 42-inch line (20+ miles, around 9 years to build), Heber Springs Water and Wastewater called it a "literal drop in the bucket." The number I remember was something like 0.08 inches of lake level. Here's the story if you missed it: KATV: Conway Corp plans to tap Greers Ferry Lake
So if we're already down seven feet and nobody's alarmed, I get the math on that one pipe. What I don't get is whether it adds up if more towns line up for the same water down the road. And is this low a normal fall, or is something else going on? I've only been here a couple of years and I don't have a good feel for what's usual.
Not trying to start a fight. I just want to understand it before somebody tells me at the next water board meeting that it's all fine. Take care
